Herrenberg Winery

At a glance

The Winzerhof Golk restaurant and Herrenberg winery are located on a sun-drenched ridge in the tranquil village of Golk.

Thanks to its location, the Herrenberg is particularly sun-kissed. From spring to golden autumn, the sun shines on the slopes, shines through the grapes, plays on the increasingly colorful vine leaves and creates a unique vineyard atmosphere. Our steep slopes, slopes that fall away to the south at an angle of around 30°, benefit from the strongest and longest sunlight and are less at risk from late frost. The vineyard walls also store and reflect the heat that is released into the environment on cooler nights. The dry location reduces the yield and strengthens the fruit and minerality of our wine. Harvesting and pressing on site protects the sensitive grapes and their aroma and ensures the best wines. The hand-picked wine comes directly from the mountain to the cellar at the best possible time, where it is gently pressed and optimally matured in modern facilities. Riesling and Pinot Noir traditionally determine the grape varieties on the 2-hectare vineyard.
