Enjoy down-to-earth, home-style cooking in the rustic, cosy atmosphere of the Lößnitztalschänke in Radebeul. Situated below the vineyards, in the immediate vicinity of the "Weißes Roß" stop on the Lößnitzgrundbahn railway, the Lößnitztalschänke has a variety of rooms, including a large beer garden, and is barrier-free. Classic specialities include the knuckle of pork day on Wednesdays, trout from the smoker on Thursdays and the Smutjes Sunday roast.

Anyone descending the 14 steps into the cosy cellar restaurant immediately feels at home: heavy sandstone walls and brick vaults conjure up a relaxed atmosphere - and the enjoyment here is as uncomplicated as it is complete. The cuisine is modern and creative, combining good produce and solid craftsmanship with a wealth of ideas. The Michelin-starred cuisine is accompanied by a fine wine list: all from East German winegrowers, including some very deliberate discoveries. If you want to enjoy really good cake, Café Toscana has been at your side for over 125 years. But sweet is only one side of the story here. Every day between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., there is not only the finest confectionery but also really good food. An excellent breakfast selection meets classics such as a real Wiener Schnitzel, and organic and regional are also part of the good Saxon-international tone here. Yes, things are sweet here in the Old Town, very close to the world-famous Frauenkirche. Behind the baroque façade of the Gewandhaus Hotel Dresden, fine ingredients are turned into art. Oswaldz is one of those communicative favourite places that can turn a morning into a good morning. The unagitated, cool and cosy atmosphere is a great place to unwind. Excellent speciality coffee, delicious homemade cakes such as the famous cheesecake and the very special sourdough bread creations will leave you wanting more. There are also changing art exhibitions on top. Tip: In summer, the green inner courtyard is a wonderful place to sit!

A gatehouse as a stroke of luck.

Goodbye everyday hustle and bustle, hello T1: the old gatehouse, saved from demolition, is a small, beautiful café and bistro that has arrived in the here and now with heart and soul from the 1930s. Located directly at the main entrance to the Kulturkraftwerk Mitte power station, it looks like an enchanting time capsule: The warm light of the carbon filament lamps plays around the unfussy details, there is coffee and newspapers, soups and quiche, delicious cakes and - in the evening - Mediterranean finger food. Oh!
