In the shadow of the Frauenkirche church on the market square in Meissen, Weingasstätte Vincenz Richter treats its guests to fresh Saxon cuisine and Meissen wine from the family-run winery. In the lavishly decorated wine taverns, guests can dine amidst numerous antiques.
The Vincenz Richter wine tavern is one of the oldest restaurants on the market square and has been family-owned since 1873.
Housed in a clothmaker's house dating back to 1523, the Vincenz Richter restaurant impresses above all with its quaint, romantic ambience. The historic interior with antiques such as knight's armor and halberds underline the historical flair. It is precisely this unique collection of antiques that makes the restaurant an attraction that is known far beyond the district's borders. But the fresh and regional dishes, including popular in-house specialties such as Vincenz wine cream, Vincenz Richter Riesling ice cream or the goose menu from Saxon free-range geese, are also a magnet for visitors time and time again. Guests can also enjoy exquisite wines from the Vincenz Richter winery.
In fine weather, food can be enjoyed on the terrace (35 seats) or in the cozy inner courtyard (40 seats). The restaurant regularly hosts wine tastings and various cultural events. The premises can of course also be booked for your own events.
