Pure beauty: Janine Jansen & Camerata Salzburg

At a glance

Janine Jansen & Camerata Salzburg: Virtuoso soundscapes between Baroque and Romantic

Dutch violinist Janine Jansen is one of the most outstanding artists of her generation and fascinates audiences worldwide with her passionate musicality and impressive virtuosity. The likeable, exceptional violinist is now making her long-awaited debut at the Dresden Music Festival. She will be accompanied by the Camerata Salzburg - an artistic interplay that both musicians value as a special gift. Together they will perform Mendelssohn's famous Violin Concerto in E minor, whose lyrical opening Jansen describes as "pure beauty". With the solemn "Reformation Symphony", which was composed to mark the 300th anniversary of the "Augsburg Confession of Faith", and Bach's masterful Ricercar a 6, the programme spans a fascinating arc between the Baroque and Romantic periods.
