"Music is a human right." (Daniel Hope)
The renowned violinist and Artistic Director of the Dresden Frauenkirche tells podcast host, actress and mdr presenter Henriette Fee Grützner very openly and touchingly about his passion for the violin, which began at the age of five. One of the fascinating things about music for him is that just a few sequences of a piece of music are enough to evoke memories and emotions of related events or periods of life. Hope also utilises this power of music when he plays for seriously ill people. It is exciting to hear what fascinates the metropolitan and world musician so much about Dresden, the city that has attracted so many renowned artists for centuries and - in Hope's personal experience - produces residents with a keen sense of music. Dresden's Frauenkirche is a magical place for him. "When you know the history of the Frauenkirche, you feel something. I think that's why so many millions of people come there. It's a place of beauty and reconciliation," says Daniel Hope. In general, Dresden's historic city centre does something to visitors. "People have a special sense of calm and contentment when they visit Dresden because they see how beautiful the world can be," says Hope. In the latest episode, he also reveals his favourite places to eat during his visits to Dresden and which wine he particularly likes here.
Podcast is a bridge to the facets of the destination
"When we launched the Dresden Elbland podcast in 2019, we were the first destination in Germany. Since then, we have continuously developed the profile and, since this year, we have focused on a profession that is particularly associated with Dresden Elbland. This has been very well received by our listeners," says Miseer. The 2023 series began with paddle steamer captain Andreas Weber and then highlighted the professions of a young stonemason, a tattoo artist from Dresden's baroque quarter and a stollen baker who is the third generation to run the family business. "The profession is the bridge to present the special features of Dresden and the region in an authentic and entertaining way. Henriette Fee Grützner also elicits a few insider tips from her interviewer, which are ideal for our tourists to copy," continues Miseer. DMG has the agency Podcastmania at its side for the production of the podcast. "The unique combination of classical music and the cultural fascination of Dresden is reflected in this episode and makes our podcast a sonorous experience. An episode for stories that capture the heartbeat of the city in harmony with first-class music," says Dominic Hesse, Managing Director of Podcastmania. The podcast "Nu gucke ma da! The official Dresden Elbland Podcast" is available on all popular platforms such as Apple Podcast and Spotify https://tinyurl.com/yknqn96m as well as via the online magazine managed by DMG at https://dresden-magazin.com/dresden-elbland-podcast/geiger/.
