Schulz Mill Gauernitz

In the Schulzemühle, in the idyllic Eichhörnchengrund in Gauernitz, the fully functional grain mill on a scale of 1:5 is rattling again. In the historic mill, grain is ground into flour. Visitors young and old are amazed. The "miller" is happy to present the special gem - Germany's smallest, walk-in, still producing water mill.

Although not all of the once numerous water mills in the Triebisch valley and in the valleys on the left bank of the river Elbe exist today, Klipphausen is one of the Saxon communities with the most mills. The mill landscape has a strong value and is image-building beyond the boundaries of the municipality. The German Mill Day is one of the event highlights in the community of Klipphausen. Every year on Whit Monday, the action and theme day around the mills and milling attracts thousands of visitors to the venues.
