Richard Wagner Memorial Graupa

At a glance

Where Richard Wagner created the sketches for his opera "Lohengrin" during a summer vacation in 1846, there is now a modern multimedia exhibition.

The Richard Wagner Sites Graupa, which include the Hunting Lodge Graupa and the Lohengrin House, are dedicated not only to Wagner's time in Saxony, but also to his unique life's work.

Part of the exhibition is a holographic theater that illustrates the innovative staging techniques of his operas. A virtual orchestra pit invites visitors to follow Wagner's pieces note by note and visualizes each active orchestral instrument. Many other interactive offerings ensure that visitors get a vivid impression of how Wagner worked.
