At a glance

"It should not be called a stream, but the sea."

This is how Beethoven summarised his admiration for the forefather of entire generations of composers. Max Reger expressed his admiration by composing a wide variety of variations on the four notes represented by the four letters of Bach's name. Of course, only connoisseurs can hear where these notes appear, but that's not really the point, it's the power and musical energy that speak directly to us from this powerful "Fantasy and Fugue". Isabelle Demers, who will play it on our concert hall organ, has prepared a masterpiece by Bach and a piece by Rachel Laurin, who, like herself, comes from Canada.
